What is Buescher Scandinavia?
Buescher Scandinavia is a society created by a group of Scandinavian classical saxophonists with a special passion for the old Buescher saxophones of the 1920s through 1950s – and especially the tradition of saxophone playing of Sigurd M. Raschèr and The Raschèr Saxophone Quartet.
The purpose of the society is partly to create a forum for like-minded, and partly to arrange a convention including the forming of a large professional saxophone orchestra.
Buescher Scandinavia had its first convention in June 2014.

Forum for Buescher-enthusiasts
You will finde Buescher Scandinavias on-line forum on FaceBook. This is the place where we can exchange knowlegde and insights on instruments, repertoire, recordings, buy/sell instruments etc.
The FaceBook-page is open for all who take a serious interest in the subject, therefore membership of the group must be approved by the moderator. Apply for membership and telle us a little about yourself and your interest in the group - we love to hear from you!

Buescher Scandinavia – Tromsø (N) 2015
June 25nd-28th 2015 Buescher Scandinavia is planning to host its second convention in Tromsø, Norway. The event will have the establising of a Saxophone Orchestra as its central activity. The Convetion will also feature chamber music, workshops, master classes and more.
Who is this for?
The primary target group is saxophonists within the classical tradition, with an interest in the "Raschèr school" of playing and who also takes an interest in old american saxophones (our focus is Buescher – but there are many other good horns; like Conn etc.). The participants are either trained musicians or young saxophonists who are aiming for a higher music education (Musikkonservatorier/Høgskola/Högskola) or prepatory courses.

We will also arrange chamber music for participants that play modern instrument, so don´t be afraid to bring your Selmer or Buffet. Down under you see the link were updated information will be posted.
